For more than two and a half centuries, the Twin Lights of Thacher Island have stood watch over the waters off Cape Ann.
They have endured hurricanes, nor’easters, war, revolution, fog, freezing spray, and the relentless work of salt and sea. They have guided generations of mariners away from hidden ledges and dangerous shoals. They have become part of the visual memory of Rockport: two granite towers rising from the Atlantic, visible from shore, boats, kitchen windows, childhood, and home.
Today, one of those lights is itself in need of rescue.
Every generation has had its keepers. Now it’s our turn.

Description
The Lantern Room’s curtain wall allows the blinking red light to shine out six miles and reassures those on land that Anne’s Eyes are lighting the way for mariners. Over these past 160 years leaks have developed in the curtain wall. Now it’s time to ensure that the Lantern Room allows the South Tower light to shine for future generations.
