The Thacher & Straitsmouth Islands Association and the Rockport Art Association & Museum are delighted to collaborate on the special exhibition Between the Tides: Art from Thacher & Straitsmouth Islands – Juried Artist Members on view at the RAA&M from September 20 – November 2, 2025.
Since the mid-1800s, artists have flocked to Cape Ann to capture its majestic seascapes, picturesque villages, and working quarries and harbors thrumming with activity. Artists of today continue the tradition, and over the last two summers a select group enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to create art.
In summer 2024 and summer 2025, TSIA and the Town of Rockport Thacher & Straitsmouth Islands Town Committee offered boat trips to Thacher Island for Juried Artist Members of the Rockport Art Association & Museum. The trips allowed the artists to spend four and a half hours on the island, where they found inspiration in every direction.
Artwork inspired by these special trips and the beauty of the islands are on view at the RAA&M in Between the Tides: Art from Thacher & Straitsmouth Islands – Juried Artist Members, from September 20 – November 2. All works are for sale.
