Staying on Thacher Island

"We will not be taking reservations for rental of the Assistant Keeper House until after March 1st ,2008. At that time we will probably rent for the July and August only."

Camping at Carroll’s Campground
There is a small campground available. The donation is $5.00 per night per person. You must reserve ahead of time by calling the resident keeper at 617-599-2590. Camping is available from July 1 to September 15. Open fires are prohibited. There is no water available so bring your own.Camping is "basic" no showers are available,fireplaces or electricity. There is a privy at the site. No pets allowed. Checks to be made out to the Town of Rockport .

Stay in real Lighthouse Keeper’s house

Not more than 6 individuals at a time may reside in the apartment. Children under 3 years of age are not permitted on the island for their own safety.Checks made payable to the Town of Rockport .Donation is $150.00 per night for 2 people (2night minimum) and $50.00 per night for each additional person(children under 12 are free). The apartment is only available on weekends Friday through Sunday. A $200.00, non-refundable deposit is required if not cancelled 30 days before occupancy. The apartment is 3 stories and includes a kitchen, living room, bath with shower, and 3 bedrooms (note large house in center of photo on home page). There is water for washing but not for drinking, bring your own. Bring your own food and other necessities. There is a washer and dryer and cell phone service is available. There is an outdoor grill for your use. All pillows and blankets are supplied; bring your own linens and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans and silverware. Smoking or open flames is not allowed in the house. No pets.
Transportation will be provided by the Thacher Island Town Committee launch and arrangements should be made in advance. Transportation is subject to weather conditions and we cannot be held responsible if weather prevents us from getting to or from the island in a timely manner.
It should be noted that accommodations are rather spartan and is not meant to be a bed and breakfast.
